Vitis Vinifera Leaf Extract

The vine is a climbing shrub plant belonging to the Vitaceae family. It is a plant native to southern Europe and western Asia, but now widespread on all continents. It has a climbing development with an irregular habit, even growing for several meters. The leaves have an irregularly toothed margin; at the end of their life cycle, these lose their normal green colour, acquiring the typical red colour, before detaching and falling. The fruit is a berry called a grape, typically gathered in clusters, known as grapes. Red grapes in particular are a concentrate of very precious substances, an ally of health and beauty that counteracts capillary fragility and venous insufficiency in the lower limbs and is also very useful for counteracting cellulite and water retention; thanks to the high content of flavonoids and anthocyanosides, it contributes to a vasoprotective action with consequent reduction of capillary permeability, reduces leakage and the consequent accumulation of liquids, a problem typically linked to cellulite. Flavonoids are obtained from the pulp and skin of the grapes, with antioxidant properties. Two of these in particular, quercetin and resveratrol, counteract the negative effects of free radicals. Quercitin, in addition to having an anticancer action, increases the resistance of the capillaries by regulating their permeability. Resveratrol is present above all in the skin and seeds of grapes and is widely used in the cosmetic and pharmacological industry because it not only counteracts the onset of free radicals by helping the skin to remain compact and elastic, but also has an antioxidant effect, natural anti-inflammatory and to stimulate the synthesis of collagen.

Vitis Vinifera Leaf Oil

Grapeseed oil has an antioxidant action, which protects the skin from premature aging, atmospheric agents and free radicals. Grapeseed oil applied to the skin also has astringent, firming and stimulating properties on capillary microcirculation.

The Emilian company that supplies us with the red grape extract carries out the extraction using a technologically advanced method based on ultrasound: it is an exclusively mechanical method in which the entire extraction process takes place at room temperature thus avoiding the disintegration of the active ingredients thermolabile, such as vitamins or essential oils. During the process, the ultrasounds are transformed into shock waves which spread in the containment tank through the formation of millions of micro-bubbles which grow until they explode. This phenomenon allows the rupture of the cell membrane, the emptying of the active principles contained in it and the consequent solubilization in the solvent medium: in this way almost total extractions of all the active principles contained in the plants are obtained, which cannot happen with a physical extraction. It is therefore an extraction method capable of keeping the organoleptic and functional qualities of the plants intact.
